Simple Beginnings (Our History)

The Infant Jesus Catholic preparatory school was established in 2001. The school building was dedicated on the 6th of October 2001 by Rev. Fr. Anthony Sackey with a sizeable congregation of Twifo Praso St. John the Baptist Catholic church.

1999, The Convent

On the 12th of February 1999, a convent was opened with three members: Sr. Agnes Cudjoe, Margaret Rose Amponsah and Felicia Yawson.

Initially Sr. Agnes Cudjoe and Margaret Rose Amponsah were engaged in the making of Cards for different occasions and farming. Sr. Felicia Yawson was with the Women Federation and the catechists in the Archdiocese.

There was the a need, whereby the sisters wanted to provide a holistic quality Catholic Basic Education for the children within Twifo Praso District to help the children in this area to better compete with their counterparts in other districts and regions in the country.

Franciscan Conventual Friars Family

This came to reality with the financial support of one of the Franciscan Conventual Friars family and other benefactor who worked in St. John the Baptist Church, Twifo Praso.

Rev. Sr. Margaret Arhinful

The school officially started on the 9th of October, 2001 with seventy pupils from various denominations. The school started with seven (7) members of staff with Rev. Sr. Margaret Arhinful as their Headmistress assisted by Rev. Sr. Rebecca Paidoo.

They did their best possible to sustain the school.

On the 12th of September 2011, the school was handed over to Rev. Sr. Irene Christine Oparku as the Headmistres assisted by Sr. Bridget koffie, Sr. Diana Yiguro as the Accountant and Sr. Doris Nyanta as the matron.

In the course of the years, other Rev. Sisters have also worked in the school. Notable among them are; Sr. Anastasia Afoakwa of blessed memory as matron, Millicent Fredua Agyeman as matron, Marian – Hagar Dadzie as Store keeper and Sr. Mirabel Sena Adzomani as accountant
